Traditional Hot Stone Massage

WHAT IS A HOT STONE MASSAGE AND WHAT TO EXPECT?

These are the ultimate in pampering massages and Gemma only offers a full body hot stone massage.  Why? Because this allows her to do amazing things, such as wrapping your feet with a hot stone and a warm towel, as well as using the more traditional massage techniques.

HOW HOT ARE THE STONES?

The stones are heated using a specially designed case, and are heated to 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit (48-54 degrees Celsius) before you arrive. After applying massage oil, the therapist will use a combination of stone placement and different massage techniques and strokes with and without the stones on the neck, face, arms, legs, feet and back. Don't worry if that sounds too hot, we can always leave the stones to cool a little should you want.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR HOT STONE AND HOT ROCKS MASSAGES?

The hot stones massage is one of Gemma’s relaxing pamper massages, whereas the Hot Rocks massage is a version of James’ functional Sports Massages.

WHO CAN HAVE A HOT STONE MASSAGE?

As long as you are fit and well you can have a hot stone massage!

Unfortunately, it is not recommended for anyone with high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, varicose veins, migraines, cardiac patients, those with depressed immune systems, within 3 months of surgery, those undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy, skin conditions that are aggravated by heat, on blood thinning medication or pregnant.
