Indian Head Massage with Reiki

What is Indian Head Massage with Reiki?

As the name suggests it is a combination of two different modalities, to give you the best of both in one appointment. Below we explain the benefits of each therapy.

Indian Head massage

Indian Head Massage is an extremely effective therapy that has evolved from techniques traditionally practised in India as part of family rituals over thousands of years. Although it is known as Indian Head Massage, it actually involves massage of the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, face and scalp, all while the client is seated in an upright position. It uses a combination of smooth flowing strokes as well as more vigorous movements to relax and stimulate the body. The massage aims to ease tension from the major muscle groups in the neck and shoulders; areas where people often hold stress.

Indian Head massage treatments have found to be supportive to those people who are looking to achieve:

  • General and specific relaxation of muscles
  • Knots in muscles broken down
  • Loosening the scalp
  • Whole body relaxation
  • Improvement of blood circulation in previously congested muscles
  • Relief from tension headaches, migraine and insomnia

Other supportive benefits:

  • A sense of peace, calmness and tranquillity
  • Releasing of anxiety and stress
  • Easing of mental tiredness
  • Balancing of Chakra Energy
  • Boosting of available energy on all levels

Reiki

Reiki is the name given to a particular natural, energy vibration and also to the formalised practice that uses that vibration. It is used to support a person’s energy aura, much as sun cream or moisturiser are used to support the condition of the skin, due to everyday wear and tear. The benefits of Reiki are commonly referred to as the 3 Rs: Relaxing, Restoring and Re-balancing. Further information on Reiki can be found on our specific Reiki page

The combination of Indian Head Massage and Reiki aims to provide deep relaxation and a feeling of well-being, tranquillity and balance.
